Scale Information Guide
Understanding miniature scales for your gaming needs
What is Miniature Scale?
Scale refers to the size ratio between a miniature and what it represents in real life. In the miniature hobby, scale is typically expressed in millimeters (mm) and refers to the height of an average human figure from feet to eyes (not including hair or headgear).

Frequently Asked Questions
What scale should I choose for D&D?
For Dungeons & Dragons and similar tabletop RPGs, 28mm or 32mm scale is the standard. These sizes work perfectly with 1-inch grid battle maps and are compatible with most commercial D&D miniatures.
Can I mix different scales?
While it's generally best to keep your collection in the same scale for consistency, some players intentionally use larger scales for boss monsters or important characters to make them stand out on the battlefield.
What about monster sizes?
Monster and creature miniatures are scaled appropriately relative to their in-game size. A "Large" creature in D&D terms will be proportionally larger than a human-sized figure at the same scale.
